Sustainable Community Development
Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
Sustainable Community Development, LLC ("SCD"), based in Kansas City, Missouri, USA, is a marketing and distribution company specializing in natural microbial-based products and services for human health and environmental sustainability.
SCD was founded by Matthew Wood at the end of 1997 in Columbia, Missouri to assist communities in creating sustainable agriculture and a clean environment by applying beneficial and efficient microorganism ("EM") technology and nature farming methods.
SCD is uniquely qualified to support natural microbial technologies because Matthew completed a three year Masters of Science program in Dr. Higa's laboratory at University of Ryukyus in Okinawa, Japan and worked closely with the EM Research Organization on projects in severael countries.
In addition, SCD's staff and network of consultants have contributed and coordinated on projects throughout North America, as well as, participated in numerous conferences and seminars around the world related to EM technology applications and research.
SCD's Commitment to the Consumer and the Environment
SCD is committed to ensuring that the integrity of our products and vendors are sustainable and profitable in every step of development, production, distribution and promotion.
Efficient Microbes (EM)™ and SCD’s other products provide safe, natural solutions to meet numerous environmental challenges. Our products maximize the ability of microbes to reproduce and thrive in a variety of man-made and natural systems.
Not only is EM technology a tool for health and sustainability, at SCD, all of our employees practice the 3Rs - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. We reduce waste by using 100% post consumer paper in our office, double sided as much as possible. We reuse boxes and newspaper for packing, and recycle all papers, plastics, cans, glass and food waste.
